Bengaluru, April 23: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) released the SSLC Result 2026 today at 12:00 PM. Around 8.65 lakh students who wrote the Class 10 exam between March 18 and April 2 can now check their marks at karresults.nic.in.
The result went live across four official portals: karresults.nic.in, kseab.karnataka.gov.in, sslc.karnataka.gov.in, and the KarnatakaOne mobile app. DigiLocker also started serving official Marks Cards from 12 PM. Schools will hand out printed marksheets in the coming days, but the online version is valid for college admissions right now.
This year’s announcement came with one major change. Just 24 hours before results, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa confirmed that the third language subject will carry actual marks on the scorecard, not grades. The education department had originally decided to shift third language (Hindi or Sanskrit) to a grading system for 2026. Three students from Chikkamagaluru challenged the move at the Karnataka High Court. The court ruled that proper marks must be given. The government filed a review petition. It was dismissed too.
“All subjects including third language will appear with proper marks,” Bangarappa said on April 22. Total SSLC marks remain at 625. Passing requires 35% in each subject individually.
Students checking karresults.nic.in need two pieces of information: registration number and date of birth from their hall ticket. Those without internet can send an SMS to 56263 in the format “KAR10 (space) Registration Number”. KSEAB is also pushing results automatically to registered mobile numbers via WhatsApp.
The SSLC Result 2026 date falls earlier than last year. In 2025, KSEAB declared results on May 9. This year’s faster turnaround comes from the board’s new three-exam system, which gives students two more attempts in May and June if they don’t pass Exam 1.
Pass percentage has been sliding. In 2022, 85.63% of students cleared SSLC. That dropped to 83.89% in 2023, 73.40% in 2024, and 66.14% in 2025. The 2026 figure will be known at the KSEAB press conference scheduled for 1:30 PM in Bengaluru. District-wise breakdowns and toppers list usually follow by 2 PM.
For the roughly 2 to 3 lakh students expected to need a second chance, Exam 2 runs from May 18 to 25. Exam 3 follows in June. Applications open about a week after today’s result. Students who failed Exam 1 do not pay the exam fee for Exam 2. KSEAB takes the best score from any of the three attempts for PU college admissions.
The revaluation window usually opens 7 to 10 days after results. Retotalling costs Rs 200 per subject. Full revaluation costs Rs 1,020, with the fee refunded automatically if the marks change by 10 or more.
