Karresults-nic-in 2026 – Complete Karnataka Result Guide
It’s April 23, 2026. Today is the day. The Karnataka SSLC Result 2026 is out at 12:00 PM on karresults.nic.in. About 8.65 lakh students wrote SSLC between March 18 and April 2. The marks are now ready.
One thing that got sorted out just a day before the result: the third language subject. The education department had decided to give grades for Hindi and other third languages this year, replacing the old marks system. Three students from Chikkamagaluru challenged this at the Karnataka High Court. The court ruled that marks must be given, not grades. The government filed a review petition. The court dismissed that too. On April 22, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa confirmed the decision. All subjects including third language will carry proper marks on the scorecard. Total marks remain 625. Passing requires 35% in each subject.

📘 Karnataka SSLC Result 2026 – April 23
KSEAB released the result today. Students who sat SSLC Exam 1 from March 18 to April 2 can check at karresults.nic.in from 12:00 PM. Same result is on kseab.karnataka.gov.in, sslc.karnataka.gov.in, and the KarnatakaOne Mobile App. KSEAB also sends the result to students on their registered mobile number via WhatsApp and SMS. The official Marks Card is on DigiLocker from 12:00 PM today. No need to wait for the physical card from school.
The government had decided to give grades for Hindi and other third languages this year. Three students from Chikkamagaluru filed a petition. Karnataka High Court ordered that marks must be given. The government appealed. That was rejected too. Minister Madhu Bangarappa confirmed on April 22 that marks will be given for all subjects. Your scorecard will show proper marks for third language. Total marks: 625. Pass: 35% in each subject.
How to Check Karnataka SSLC Result 2026
What if Registration Number is Lost?
Your registration number is printed on the hall ticket. If you threw that away or it’s torn, don’t panic. First, check your email. Schools email the hall ticket copy to parents before the exam. Your admission slip or receipt from the school office also has the number. Second option: go to your school. The SSLC exam section keeps a record of all students and their registration numbers. They can pull up your number in minutes. If your school is closed, call the KSEAB helpline number listed further down this page. Take your Aadhaar card for identity verification.
Mobile vs Desktop – Which is Faster?
Mobile wins on result day. Here’s why. The karresults.nic.in server gets hit by a few lakh requests in the first 30 minutes. Desktop browsers load more elements per page, which means more bandwidth used per student. Mobile browsers use a lighter version. On a good 4G connection, you can check results on mobile in under 20 seconds. On desktop with home broadband, expect 45 to 60 seconds or more. If you have to use desktop, try the KarnatakaOne web portal instead of the main karresults.nic.in URL. Less traffic there.

📊 SSLC Grading System 2026 – How Marks Convert to Grades
Karnataka SSLC marks are also shown as letter grades on your marksheet. Many students don’t know this, so here is how your total out of 625 maps to grades. This is important when you apply for PU admission, since some colleges look at grade distribution more than raw marks.
| Grade | Marks (out of 625) | Percentage | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | 563 – 625 | 90% to 100% | Distinction |
| A | 500 – 562 | 80% to 90% | First Class |
| B+ | 438 – 499 | 70% to 80% | First Class |
| B | 375 – 437 | 60% to 70% | Second Class |
| C+ | 313 – 374 | 50% to 60% | Second Class |
| C | 219 – 312 | 35% to 50% | Pass |
A+ is the highest grade. You need 563 marks or more to get it. Most PU colleges in Bangalore and Mysore with science streams ask for A or A+ grade in Mathematics and Science for admission. For Commerce and Arts, a B grade is usually enough. Government PU colleges don’t have a strict grade cut-off for admission.
📊 Karnataka SSLC Pass Percentage – 2022 to 2025
Pass rates dropped two years in a row. 2024 fell to 73.40% and 2025 went further down to 66.14%. Both years showed a big gap between girls and boys. Girls consistently pass at much higher rates. KSEAB introduced the three-exam system partly because of this declining trend.
| Year | Students Appeared | Pass % | Girls % | Boys % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 8,53,436 | 85.63% | 90.29% | 81.30% |
| 2023 | 8,35,102 | 83.89% | – | – |
| 2024 | 8,59,967 | 73.40% | 81.11% | 65.90% |
| 2025 | 7,90,890 | 66.14% | – | – |
| 2026 | ~8.65 lakh | Today | – | – |
🏆 Top 10 SSLC Toppers Karnataka 2026
KSEAB usually releases the toppers list at the press conference around 1:30 PM, about 90 minutes after the main result. The top rank holder from 2025 was from Udupi district with 624 out of 625 marks. Only 6 students have scored a perfect 625 out of 625 in the past four years combined. Girls dominated the top 10 in 2025, taking 7 of the 10 spots.
Once the 2026 toppers are announced, this section will update with the full list including name, district, school, and total marks. The top scorers this year will likely have chosen PCMB science stream and are expected to join KCET or NEET preparation immediately.
The official toppers list with photos and district-wise details will be added to this section the moment KSEAB announces it. We source directly from the KSEAB press release and official circular. Our team in Bengaluru covers the announcement in real time. Bookmark this page if you want the list as soon as it’s out.
🗺️ District-wise Pass Percentage – SSLC 2026
Coastal and Malnad districts dominate the pass percentage rankings every year. In 2025, Udupi topped the state with 94% pass rate. Dakshina Kannada came second at 91%. Uttara Kannada and Chikkamagaluru followed. Bangalore South and Kalaburagi are usually at the bottom, with pass percentages between 55% and 62%. The reason isn’t always academic. School infrastructure, teacher availability, and rural connectivity play a big role.
| Rank | District | 2025 Pass % | 2026 Pass % |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Udupi | 94% | Awaited |
| 2 | Dakshina Kannada | 91% | Awaited |

| 8 | Bengaluru Urban | 68% | Awaited |

District-wise data for 2026 will be added once KSEAB releases the full breakdown in the press conference. Usually within 2 to 3 hours of the main result.
SSLC Exam 2 and Exam 3 – What Happens If You Don’t Pass
Karnataka now gives students three chances to pass SSLC. If Exam 1 doesn’t go well, you can write Exam 2 in May. Still not satisfied? There’s Exam 3 in June or July. KSEAB takes your best score from whichever attempt you do best in, and uses that for PUC admission. The attempt number doesn’t show on the marksheet at all.
Application Deadline for Exam 2
The Exam 2 application window opens around May 1, 2026, about a week after today’s result. KSEAB gives roughly 5 to 7 working days to apply. Last year, many students missed it because they were still processing the Exam 1 marks. Apply immediately after the result if you plan to write Exam 2. Students who got “Not Completed” in one or two subjects get a fee waiver. Students appearing for marks improvement or repeaters pay the standard exam fee of about Rs. 400 per subject. Application is online at kseab.karnataka.gov.in. You upload a photo and signature, pay online, and download the new hall ticket from the same portal.
What to Do After SSLC Result
PU College Admission Process
PU admission in Karnataka happens through direct application to each college. There is no centralised counselling for 1st PUC. Government PU colleges open applications in the first week of May. Private colleges start earlier, sometimes the day after the SSLC result. Keep your provisional marksheet from karresults.nic.in or DigiLocker ready. Along with that, you need the SSLC hall ticket, Aadhaar card, 4 passport size photos, and the caste certificate if you’re applying under reservation. The admission fee for government PU is around Rs. 800 to 1,500. Private colleges charge between Rs. 15,000 and 80,000 depending on the reputation and stream. Most Bangalore-based colleges fill up within the first two weeks of May. If you want a Science seat in a top college, apply in the first three days.
Not Happy With Your Marks? Revaluation Options
The board checks if all your answers were evaluated and the marks were added correctly. Lower fee, quicker process. They don’t re-read your answers.
A senior examiner reads your answers again from scratch. Marks can go up or come down. Apply only if you genuinely think you were undermarked.
Request a scan of your answer booklet before applying for revaluation. See exactly where marks were lost. It helps you decide whether to proceed.
Revaluation Fee Structure 2026
Retotalling costs Rs. 200 per subject. This is the cheapest option. Revaluation costs Rs. 1,020 per subject. If the board finds even a 10 mark difference, your revaluation fee gets refunded automatically to the same bank account within 45 days. A scanned answer copy costs Rs. 590 per subject. Most students request the scanned copy first, examine it, then decide whether to go for revaluation. Payment is online only, through the KSEAB portal. Cash payments or school office submissions are not accepted.
When Do Revaluation Results Come?
KSEAB publishes revaluation results roughly 30 to 45 days after the application window closes. For SSLC 2026, expect revaluation results by mid-June or end of June 2026. The revised marksheet is issued online through the same karresults.nic.in portal. If your marks go up, the new marks replace your original ones for all purposes including PUC admission. If they come down, the new marks are still final, which is why many students apply only when they’re sure they were marked below what they deserve.
KSEAB usually announces the revaluation window about 7 to 10 days after results. Apply through kseab.karnataka.gov.in before the deadline. The window closes quickly so don’t wait.
🎓 Scholarships After SSLC 2026
This section is what most parents look for right after checking the result. Karnataka offers several scholarships for SSLC pass students going to PU. Some are state-sponsored, some are central government, and some are from private trusts. Here are the ones worth applying to.
Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP)
This is the biggest state scholarship scheme. Applications open at ssp.karnataka.gov.in. Covers students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. Post-matric (after SSLC) scholarship amount ranges from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 12,000 per year depending on the course and category. Required documents: SSLC marksheet, income certificate (below Rs. 2.5 lakh for OBC, below Rs. 2 lakh for SC/ST), caste certificate, and bank account linked to Aadhaar. Applications usually open in July and close by end of September.
ePass Scholarship Karnataka
ePass is the portal for merit-cum-means scholarships. Available at sw.kar.nic.in. SC/ST students with family income below Rs. 2.5 lakh can get full PU fees paid by the state. General category students need to score above 60% in SSLC to qualify. The scholarship covers tuition, exam fees, and a maintenance allowance. Application opens in August and requires the same documents as SSP.
National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)
This is a central government scholarship for students moving from class 10 to class 11. Rs. 12,000 per year paid directly to your bank account. You must have scored at least 55% in SSLC (5% relaxation for SC/ST). Family income below Rs. 3.5 lakh per year. Application through the National Scholarship Portal scholarships.gov.in. This is worth applying even if you don’t think you’ll qualify. Many eligible students skip it because they assume the selection is too competitive.
Private Scholarships to Consider
Infosys Foundation, Narayana Murthy scholarship, Reliance Foundation, and Azim Premji Foundation all have scholarships for Karnataka SSLC pass students who show academic promise and financial need. These typically cover full PU fees plus a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 3,000. Applications usually close by August, so apply right after your PU admission is confirmed. Don’t wait for September, most private scholarships close earlier than state ones.
🆚 SSLC vs ICSE vs CBSE Class 10 – Which is Better?
Some parents ask this question when considering a school change. There’s no universally “better” board. Each has its strengths and the right choice depends on what career you’re aiming at.
| Factor | SSLC (Karnataka) | CBSE | ICSE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Syllabus | State-specific, Kannada focus | National, NCERT based | International, detailed |
| Difficulty | Moderate | Moderate to high | High |
| Best for | State university admission, KCET, government jobs | IIT, NEET, national exams | Language skills, overseas study |
| Average Pass % | 66% to 85% | 93% to 95% | 98% to 99% |
| Board Exam | Three exams per year (new) | One exam plus improvement | One main exam |
| Languages | Kannada compulsory | English medium | English medium, second language optional |
| Regional Colleges | Direct advantage for Karnataka PU and degree colleges | Equal treatment | Equal treatment |
| Cost | Low (free in govt schools) | Moderate to high | High (private schools only) |
If you’re aiming for Karnataka-based careers (KCET, KAS, state government jobs, local engineering colleges), SSLC gives you a local advantage. Reservation benefits, language priority, and state quota seats all favor SSLC students. If you’re targeting national exams like JEE, NEET, or moving to another state, CBSE provides a stronger foundation because the syllabus is aligned with these exams. ICSE is good if your child is strong in English and plans to go abroad for higher studies.
📞 KSEAB Helpline and Grievance
KSEAB provides a dedicated helpline for SSLC-related issues. The lines open at 10 AM and close at 5:30 PM on working days. During result week, they extend hours till 7 PM and work on Sundays too.
For grievances specific to your exam centre or if you suspect your paper was misplaced or misevaluated, file a written complaint at the District Educational Officer (DEO) office of your district. Take your SSLC hall ticket and Aadhaar card. The DEO forwards serious complaints to KSEAB headquarters within 7 working days. Online complaints can also be filed at the KSEAB portal under the “Student Grievance” section. If KSEAB doesn’t respond within 15 days, escalate to the Department of Public Instruction at pkd.karnataka.gov.in.
